All about me

My name is Rachel Blocker, I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia with my sister Sarah and parents; Leona and Bob. As a young adult I attended Penn State (WE ARE!) where I earned my associates degree in hospitality management. After college I settled in Cape May, New Jersey where I worked and managed restaurants and hotels. Looking for a little more stability, I moved into a job with Whole Foods Markets, in their leadership training program. In 2017 an opportunity with Whole Foods brought me to Atlanta, Georgia. This is where my career grew from department to store and regional leadership across multiple teams. This move also grew my personal life since this is where I met my now husband, Jordan. We were married in 2020 (yes, during Covid) which led to us settling in the beautiful North Georgia mountains. We live there with our children, Kai and Talia, and our pets; Ellie Jo, Trixie, Rascal and Stinky Face.

After my son was born, I left my job to focus on our family. After many nights of little to no sleep with our son, Kai, I did some research on sleep training. I was desperate for help. It was a relief to have some insight and guidance on how to reclaim our evenings and get more than 3 or 4 hours of rest in a night. Sleep is such an important part of our overall well-being, and effects everything from our health and mood to our amount (or lack) of patience. I was feeling exhausted, angry, and frustrated which started taking a toll on my marriage and family. After making some schedule, environment and other small adjustments, Kai was set up for more successful sleep, and it was amazing! I started to feel like a new person after getting more consistent and restful sleep, which helped me be a better person, wife and mother. When we found out we were pregnant with our daughter, Talia, I knew we were better prepared to handle the challenges that come with a new baby and sleep.

I believe I am called to help and serve others whether it be with food, beverages, knowledge, or encouragement. I’m passionate about helping families get better sleep because it made such a difference in my and my family’s lives.
